Let's get started....

Parents, moms in particular play a critical role in the development of their children. While the majority of talk is about the impact of lack of fathering in the home, I submit that lack of mothering is a crucial flaw in the development of many children. Let's agree on the former....kids need a healthy relationship with a strong moral father figure......that's a given and I would not question that fact in a lifetime. This is in regard to the simple day to day exposure and influence Mom has on her little darlings. Kids who have not been adequately 'mothered' are not difficult to notice.
It is often the small things that are evident to the discerning eye. Common courtesy beyond an expected please or thank-you is often lacking, attention to others and their feelings beyond the obvious is frequently overlooked, and the ability and desire to hold a conversation with someone older than he/she about a topic other than age related is nearly non-existent. Further, it is this writer's experience that these precious youngsters merely stay status quo without being encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and do something hard. That is where real growth will occur. They deserve our very best. What say you about radical. involved mothering?
